Executive Secretary
Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Olaia possesses a wealth of experience working with a wide range of musical traditions, diverse populations, cultures, and age groups. Olaia earned her Bachelor of Music Therapy degree with a double major in Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans. She is a founding member of the Music Therapy Association of Puerto Rico, and currently serving as the President of the Latin American Music Therapy Network. In her professional capacity, Olaia offers neurologic music therapy (NMT) services in Rhode Island with Hands in Harmony (501c3) spanning from early childhood to end-of-life care, addressing a diverse spectrum of therapeutic needs. She actively advocates for the advancement of Music Therapy within the state and plays a pivotal role in program development and fostering community partnerships.
